Post-MI Remodeling

To develop effective treatment of heart failure, rodent post-MI remodeling is the most commonly used animal model. This animal imitates the pathophysiology of human post- MI ventricular remodeling and heart failure.

Transverse Aortic Constriction (TAC)

Cardiac hypertrophy in animal models is can be induced by placing a band at the transverse aortic arch. Depending on the severity of the constriction, cardiac function can be compensatory at the early phase.

Pulmonary Artery Banding (PAB)

The PAB animal model can be induced by placing a band at the pulmonary trunk. This leads to right ventricular overload and hypertrophy.
